Blood Drive (Champion: Ron Emberg/Tonna Williams). For many years now, First United has hosted blood drives every 8 weeks (the minimum elapsed time allowed between donations). This is a thriving ministry that generates anywhere from 70 to 100 units of blood per drive, which is vitally important to north Georgia's always-depleted blood supply. The Blood drive builds synergy among First United ministries because it involves the combined efforts of Christian Concerns, Evangelism, Fellowship, and other ministries. We use these drives to draw visitors and new members not only from the surrounding community but from the study body of Kennesaw State University as well. (click here for more information on the blood drive page).
Airport Military/Veterans Ministry
Airport Military/Veterans Ministry (Champion: Tonna Williams). We work with our church members and Sunday School classes to create holiday thank you cards for our returning veterans, which are then distributed to them as they arrive at the Atlanta airport.
Habitat For Humanity
Habitat For Humanity (Champion: Dave Winchell). As a member of the Cobb Interfaith Habitat Coalition (CIHC), First United is a sponsor of Habitat For Humanity homes in Cobb County. This entails providing funds for building materials for homes and also providing labor for construction crews and serving meals to volunteers building homes. This is a powerful, enriching, and fun ministry (and you get to pick up home improvement skills along the way!). No special carpentry skills are required; you will be instructed on what to do. Come join us!
Help us fund our pledge for this year's Habitat for Humanity Interfaith Coalition build by giving at this site:
FULC Habitat for Humanity Support
(When donating, ensure our church's pledge is credited by selecting "FULC Kennesaw (CIHC)" from the "I want my donation to be designated toward" drop-down menu.)

MUST Ministries (Champions: Phyllis Beyer, Linda Hull, and Janet Rooks). FULC continues to be faithful givers of foodstuffs and household supplies to this important ministry. We have barrels located in the mailbox hallway that have been placed by MUST for the depositing by FULC members of food and clothing. These are picked up by MUST at the beginning of each month. Additionally, Christian Concerns provides food and preparers for the MUST noonday meal twice a year, and participates each summer in the MUST Kids Summer Lunch Program.
Needy Families. We have a budget line item for the financial support of FULC members in need, and we also provide them with physical support (e.g. relocation assistance). For non-members, we provide a resource in the church office to refer callers to community social service agencies.
