Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School at First United provides a fun, loving environment in which the children of FULC, as well as those of the community, can grow in faith. Using the programs from Group Publishing we transform the church into an exciting learning environment for the children. The children start with an opening consisting of music and skits. They then rotate to stations for drama, crafts, snacks, games and theater before ending the evening with a closing. Ages 3 through those students who finish 5th grade the year of the program are welcome.
This year's Vacation Bible School is "Cave Quest - Following Jesus The light of the World!"
Who can work? Anyone who has completed 6th grade or older may be a volunteer.
Who can attend? VBS is designed for all youth ages 3 through those students who finish 5th grade the year of the program.
When is VBS? Decorating will begin on Friday, June 10, 2016 and will continue all weekend. VBS will kick off Sunday, June 12th at 6:30PM. The program will conclude on Thursday, June 16th. We will take down decorations on Saturday, June 18th.
What are the times for VBS? The program runs from 6:30PM - 9:15PM. Parents are invited to get to the church for pick-up 15 minutes before the end of the program to enjoy the closing group-great music and fun recaps of the night's activities.
Dinner (kid-friendly finger food) will be offered from 6:00PM - 6:30PM. Please note that during dinner time all children are to be supervised by their parents and/or guardians. Children will not be in the care of VBS volunteer staff until 6:30PM.
What is involved? Each night the groups will rotate through a series of stations, each designed to reinforce the night's message. There are games, science projects, live-action Bible stories, small group time, large group singing and skits, fellowship, and service in making the snacks for the groups.
