Habitat for Humanity

After several weeks of delays in getting the building permit for our annual Habitat for Humanity Interfaith coalition build, the build actually starts on August 13th. FULC members who have not yet written a blessing on one of the 2 x 4's in the lobby should do so before we remove them to the build site on August 12th. (No financial gifts are needed. We've met our pledge!).
Our labor and lunch dates are now finally a lock. Below are the headcounts needed. Some of you may have already committed to one of these dates, but to be sure, please re-commit by notifying Dave Winchell at dave@davewinchell.com. Dave will see that you get all of the instructions and directions needed well in advance.
September 10th-Exterior Painting: 2 laborers needed
September 17th-Caulking and Interior Painting: 8 laborers needed
October 1st-FULC serves lunch for 40 workers. Contact Susan Lyke at bocklyke@gmail.com to provide food or labor.
October 8th-Landscaping: 3 laborers needed
Habitat for Humanity is a Christian-based ministry seeking to provide decent, affordable housing to well-qualified, low income home buyers. Our coalition is well positioned at this time in history to demonstrate love for all races and religions by working together in our interfaith coalition. Please contact Dave Winchell (dave@davewinchell.com) for more information. Thanks, and Peace be with You!

Habitat For Humanity (Champion: Dave Winchell). As a member of the Cobb Interfaith Habitat Coalition (CIHC), First United is a sponsor of Habitat For Humanity homes in Cobb County. This entails providing funds for building materials for homes and also providing labor for construction crews and serving meals to volunteers building homes. This is a powerful, enriching, and fun ministry (and you get to pick up home improvement skills along the way!). No special carpentry skills are required; you will be instructed on what to do. Come join us!
