In September 2016, the Dorcas Circle will become QUILTS2GO.
The goal remains: QUILTS for Lutheran World Relief (2GO to disaster locations) The method changes: 2GO. From the Fellowship Hall closet, pick up fabric to cut, sew, or tie. Take home as much or as little fabric as you want to work on with family and friends. Take as much or as little time as you need. Return your work to the closet so others can do the next step in the process. Or, do the next step yourself. Or, join us for quarterly quilting bees in the Fellowship Hall. Dates to be announced on this page. Serve others while on the GO! |

CUT
|
1.
Iron fabric if it is wrinkled. |
|
|
2.
Mark, then cut 9"-wide strips. |
|
|
3.
Mark, then cut as many rectangles as you can with one side 9" long. NOTE The other side should be anywhere between 5" and 18" long. |

SEW1.

2.
Place the pretty sides of 2 rectangles of fabric together along their 9" sides. |
|
|
3.
Sew the rectangles together with a 1/2" seam. |
|
|
4.
Sew rectangles together to make a strip that is at least 60" long. |
|
|
TIP
Work on multiple strips at the same time by "chaining" across the gap between them. |
